I have had an itch to make a 3D cake for a while now. To my surprise I was asked to make a very special cake for a photographers birthday. This special photographer just happens to be my sister-in-law who is a wonderful artist! Her right hand ladies requested I make an antique camera cake with a tag that said “You’re not old, just vintage.”
I have been collecting old cameras for several years. If I happen to spot one for a great price at antique stores I grab them. They make for wonderful decoration and I love the nostalgia. So I took down some of my old cameras and measured away. These cameras came in handy with this project because I had an example to follow all the way through.
I baked two 8″ x 8″ chocolate cakes and cut them to size. I was hoping to make three cameras out of the cake but was only able to make two. Here was my end result. Say “cheese!” If you ever need pics in Houston visit http://www.rhondafloyd.com)
